The White Rose
I watch them laugh, I watch them talk
their baseless conversations;
among them, I walk.
Am I just another one
in this school of fish-
Too blind, too lost to realise the net?
A lone voice suppressed and subdued,
muffled and mute; and subjugated by the noise
of the crowd's acute melody-line..
Or an eagle am I,
flying high above the horizon,
Or a horse galloping across the grasslands.
Not just another drop in the ocean.
Not just another sand particle on the beach.
To every person out there, I want to reach.
I hope someday they'll quit
painting my white petals red;
They'll understand: I was the puzzle piece
that was never meant to fit.
